About the Fortress

The Fortress of the Arts was founded in 2005 by Kat Reilly with help from her former assistant Molly Meehan and building owner Stephen Agresta.

The building once functioned as a metal fabrication plant but is now being renovated into Philadelphia's most innovative cultural arts center. The massive rooms in the Fortress now host a multitude of cultural arts events such as photo shoots, open mic / music events, art receptions as well as The Festival of Shorts Film Festival.

Each floor is being refurbished as art gallery spaces, artist studios as well as open areas for set building. So the Fortress also makes a great spot to shoot if you're a filmmaker!

Kat is quickly turning this industrial building into a central hub for the public to come out and enjoy the work of artists from a wide array of artistic expressions.
